📚 Pedagogical Documents
The Pedagogical Documents module allows teachers to upload, manage and track their academic planning documents (syllabi and lesson plans) by period and subject. It includes a review and approval workflow by the coordinator and a completion report for school management.
Access path: Side menu → Planning → My Pedagogical Documents
1. What Are Pedagogical Documents?
These are curriculum planning documents that every teacher must prepare and submit for each subject and academic period. In the Nicaraguan MINED context, at least two types are required:
| Type | Description |
|---|---|
| Dosificación (Syllabus) | Distribution plan of content throughout the period (weeks, units, competencies) |
| Plan de Clase (Lesson Plan) | Detailed plan for class sessions (objectives, activities, evaluation) |
📌 Per period and subject
Each teacher must submit one document of each type for every subject they teach in each academic period. The system tracks this compliance.
2. Status Workflow
A pedagogical document goes through the following statuses:
| Status | Color | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Draft | Gray | Document uploaded but not yet sent for review |
| Submitted | Blue | Awaiting coordinator review |
| Approved | Green | Reviewed and approved — counts toward completion metric |
| Rejected | Red | Returned with comment — teacher must correct and resubmit |
3. Roles and Permissions
| Role | Available actions |
|---|---|
| Teacher | Upload documents, submit for review, download, view history |
| Coordinator / Admin | Review, approve, reject with comment, view all documents |
| Management / Admin | View the institutional completion report |

6. Completion Report (Management)
Access path: Side menu → Planning → Pedagogical Report
This report allows management to track the compliance status of pedagogical document submission across the institution.
6.1 How Is the Percentage Calculated?
% Completion = Approved Documents / Required Documents × 100| Variable | Calculation |
|---|---|
| Approved Documents | Number of documents with "Approved" status |
| Required Documents | Teacher's subjects × 2 types × periods in the year |
Example
A teacher with 3 subjects in a year with 4 periods must submit: 3 × 2 × 4 = 24 documents to reach 100%.
6.2 Period Filter vs. Full Year
| View mode | Percentage denominator |
|---|---|
| No period filter (full year) | subjects × 2 types × nPeriods |
| With period filter | subjects × 2 types |
7. Google Drive Storage
Uploaded files are automatically stored in the institutional Google Drive account under the following folder structure:
Pedagogical Root Folder
└── {yearId} ← Academic year ID
└── {periodId} ← Academic period ID
└── {teacherId} ← Teacher ID
└── file.pdfNumeric IDs only
The folder structure uses only numeric identifiers (never text names) to avoid issues with accents, spaces and special characters.
